EU - JPIA General Assembly

The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) Enverga Chapter conducted its Annual General Assembly at the RBA Hall, CET Bldg. MSEUF on June 22 at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Accountancy students, from first year to fourth year, attended the said event. Out of the total number of 178 students, 110 were present. The program started with the invocation, followed by the national anthem and the university hymn.  The next part is the welcoming remarks from the President of the organization, Mr. Jejomar Monterey, and the inspirational talk given by the organization’s adviser, Mr. Carlito Rodriguez.

The JPIA also held the awarding of last semester’s Departmental Examination Top 4 in the ACC102, namely: Krishna P. Amar, William R. Bacsa, Ronz Mikko P. Del Moro, and Rhey Mhel Arlo P. Urquiola.

After that, Mr. Julius Macaraig (4th year) discussed the career path that accountants may take; Ms. Ma. Jeanie Khaye Elma (3rd year) presented the alumni EU-JPIANS who are now successful and their current achievements. Next, Mr. Monterey enumerated the accomplishments of JPIA for the academic year 2011-2012 and explained the activities that the organization will conduct throughout the current year.

The executive officers and the different committees were also presented to the freshmen. An election was also held to elect committee representatives from first years.

Other organizations were also given the chance to present their business to the freshmen. These include the CBA Academic Circle, Kappa Sigma Beta Fraternity, Kappa Delta Omega Sorority, and the Junior Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (which presented their project in cooperation with DepEd’s TEN MOVES).

Next, the membership forms for the accreditation were disseminated to everyone. Instructions were given and the submission is on Monday.

A few games were also held which aim to establish camaraderie among the members. There was the “Group yourselves – with a twist” and a version of “Sa Pula, sa Puti”. Prizes were given to the winners and there was also a raffle draw wherein 5 JPIANS were chosen randomly from the attendance/registration sheet.

The program ended with the closing remarks from the Executive Vice President, Mr. Mykel Evan Josef De Silva.

Also, after the program, the CES president of EU-JPIA called the attention of the sophomores to conduct an election for the next set of officers.
